New Chairman for Television Broadcasters' Council
The founding chairman of the New Zealand Television Broadcasters' Council and former CEO of TV3 and TV4 Networks, Mr Graeme Hunter, has stood down after three years. Mr Rick Ellis, chief executive of Television New Zealand, is the new chairman.
Mr Ellis was elected at the October meeting of the Council this week.
Mr Ellis thanked Mr Hunter for his work in establishing the Council and putting it on a sound footing since its inception in November 1998. Mr Hunter is continuing to work in the advertising industry as principal of Hunter Media Limited, an independent media consultancy established in December last year.
The Television Broadcasters' Council represents the non-competitive interests of the broadcast television industry and its members are Television New Zealand, CanWest New Zealand and Prime Television New Zealand.
